Hooray, this morning we cut the ribbons and our exhibition was officially opened! Instead of the circle activity, we visit our own exhibition this morning. We look at who made what and discuss what they liked most about our Art theme. All parents, caregivers and family are welcome to come and watch.

For our Artist theme this week we have the topic 'statues'. In the circle we look at images of statues. We look closely at what they look like. For example, where are the hands? Is the statue sitting, lying or standing? Then we all try to imitate the poses! The children are very good at this. We also make our own statue from real clay that we decorate with natural materials!

This week for the theme 'I am an artist', we are making a beautiful group work, one for both groups. Every day the children who are there can decorate the canvas. We use different materials every day. For today we are using these beautiful natural brushes! At the end of the theme we will show our works during our exhibition.

Last week we had the topic 'shapes' and this week we are working on 'colour' for our Artist theme. We have a game in the circle and we use the twister board for this. The children can take turns turning and then looking for something in the room with the same color. As an activity we make beautiful abstract works of art. The largest ones use a window chamois for this. What a surprise that appears! The smallest ones also make their own work. They spread and mix the paint in an A4 folder, using their hands.

Wow! Admire the beautiful snowfall together! Then we quickly go outside to really experience the snowfall. We also try to catch them with our tongue.

This week we're talking about Shapes. Which shapes do the children already know? How do they look like? How many corners are there in a square? In the circle we have a basket with different things. These things each have their own shape to which they belong. Can the children discover which shape is the same? One by one they choose something and then place it in the correct shape. This is going great! We recreate the shapes at the table by placing natural material on the line.

This week we continue with Christmas! Everyone receives a Christmas bauble with the question: What color is the Christmas bauble? Then we look at which spot it is allowed on the Christmas tree. We practice recognizing and naming the colors. There are also a few foppers that are not on the tree, to test which children already know these colors. Namely black and brown. They were very good at this! We also make a nice ugly Christmas sweater. We also received a tasty appetizer from Madaga this year, to go with a hot meal. In addition to the hot meal, the children are now also offered soup! This will either be pepper soup or tomato soup. Hmmm that's delicious!

This week we started with the Christmas theme! We have a Santa Claus visiting who would like some cookies. The children take turns drawing a card with a number on it. That number tells us how many cookies we can give Santa Claus. We practice recognizing numbers and the counting sequence. It is also a good small motor skills exercise! The children really enjoy doing it. We also decorate beautiful pine cones and Christmas trees.
