Toddler care

Your toddler looks around in amazement. How much nature has to offer! Messing around with sand and water, discovering new structures in the garden, taking care of the plants together and playing imaginatively with everything you encounter in nature. We can be found outside all year round, because being outside is fun and healthy!

Your toddler experiences a lot

As a brand new world explorer, there is a lot to experience for your little one at Wiedewei! We spend as much time outside as possible all year round. In the fall stomping in large rain puddles and in the summer building sandcastles and rolling through the grass. (Almost) nothing is too crazy and getting dirty is allowed!

Playing with natural materials

At Wiedewei we stimulate your child's imagination by playing with natural materials. For example, that one stick is first a soup spoon in the mud kitchen, then a magic wand and then we let creepy crawlies walk over it. We deal sustainably and creatively with all the materials we use.

Discover the world through play

Your little one learns a lot through play. Searching for and naming insects, cooking in the mud kitchen, but also recovering during reading stories about animals in the forest. Your child works, plays and shares with his or her first buddies. And during our daily songs and stories, all kinds of new words pass by.

In our toddler group, formerly a playgroup or crèche, we have a lot of fun and ensure the right balance between being busy and resting. No day at Wiedewei is the same!

Together with Spruit on an adventure

At Wiedewei we stimulate your child's development with the certified VVE program Uk & Puk and with the green friend Spruit. Together with Spruit, your child will experience the most beautiful adventures and attention will be paid to nature, sustainability, language development, motor skills, creativity, social and personal skills.

We stimulate your child in a playful, but safe way. This creates interaction. In this way, in addition to the daily activities, attention is paid to the overall development of your child in an accessible way.

A flying start

All toddlers work with different themes at Wiedewei, such as family, food and the weather. During these theme weeks, pedagogical staff read from thematic booklets, but your child also gets plenty of space to tell stories, sing and play in the circle. Spruit teaches your child a lot of new skills in a playful way! This way your child learns to recognize emotions and new words that go with the theme. Extra nice that the transition to primary school will soon be a lot less big!

This is what your toddler does in a day

A recurring daily schedule ensures regularity and offers your toddler structure. This way your child knows which activities come back every day. Each activity has certain rituals, such as singing a song when cleaning up the toys together. Of course we look at what your toddler needs on a daily basis. We tailor our program to this as much as possible.

Municipal allowance

The government considers it very important that all toddlers have the opportunity to go to day care with peers. This is good for your child's development, because here your toddler makes friends, learns to count, sing songs and much more! This way, your child will be well prepared for primary school when he or she turns 4 years old.

To encourage this even more, some municipalities will help you with the costs of day care. Which arrangement applies to you depends on a number of factors; do you receive childcare allowance or do you pay a monthly parental contribution? And in addition, does your child have a referral from youth healthcare or not? For example, because he or she has a language deficiency. Check below which (extra) arrangements there are in your municipality!
