Last week was 'Wiedewei Clean'! A week in which we contribute an extra bit to cleaning up and cleaning nature. We organize this week in the context of the World Cleanup Day, which takes place annually. This is the largest cleanup action worldwide in which more than 180 countries participate.
During this week we pay extra attention to cleaning and tidying up the nature around our shelter. We also apply it in practice. The BSO children roll up their sleeves and ensure that the outdoor areas of their establishment and the direct surroundings are clean and tidy again. They do this together with the pedagogical professionals. Together they clean the sidewalk, the lawn and even the municipal garden. With gloves and garbage bags, the children go out in small groups, looking for litter. During Wiedewei Schoon, children learn in a playful way how important it is to take good care of nature, and that starts at a young age!
Who knew! Did you know that a plastic candy wrapper takes 20 to 500 years to decompose? By cleaning up nature together, we prevent long-term pollution.
