Reading aloud… not only great fun, but also very valuable for your child’s development. Reading aloud stimulates the imagination, provides relaxation, increases vocabulary and can help talk about emotions. That’s why we like to work with libraries. The place where everyone can come into contact with books in an accessible way.
Last Thursday we signed for a nice collaboration with Library Hoeksche Waard. This festive moment was also the official kick-off of BoekStart, where each location has its own reading coordinator and activities are regularly organized in collaboration with the library. There are now new reading coordinators at seven Wiedewei and Kibeo locations.
After the signing, BoekStartCoach Colinda read the book Dikkie Dik is jarig to the children. She did this with a story box, which makes the story come to life even more.
To end the morning festively, the children threw flower seed confetti outside in the green garden of Wiedewei Maasdam. A nice memento of the start of this project and the collaboration with Library Hoeksche Waard!
