Read, listen and discover together during the National Reading Days

Published January 29, 2026

"Hey, I have big news! Would you like to listen to my story?"
Little Monkey had experienced something and was incredibly excited. He jumped on his scooter and set off. Because this news had to be told!

Together with the children, we listened to what Little Monkey had to say. We talked, discovered, and relived the story together. And did you know we had a visit from real storytellers? We also did all sorts of activities, like an outdoor monkey trail. Just like Little Monkey, we hopped on our scooters and went around the trail. At some locations, the children even brought their own favorite books, which they shared with the group.

Reading heroes at our daycare center

We had visits from several reading heroes at our locations. Grandparents and staff from the local library came by to interactively read from Kleine Aap (Little Monkey), the picture book of the year and number one in the Picture Book Top 10. Those were truly special moments!

A language-rich start with attention for every child

Research shows that a solid language foundation at a young age is crucial for a child's further development, both cognitively and socially. Not every child grows up with the same rich language skills, and language delays often develop before the age of five. There's still much to be gained, especially in childcare. That's why Kibeo, of which Wiedewei is a part, developed its own language program: Rich in LanguageWith this program, they stimulate children's language development in a playful and conscious way.
