At Wiedewei we are committed to a good start for all children. That is why we offer Preschool Education at all our daycare locations (0 to 4 years). With this program we stimulate the broad development of children, so that they can continue to grow with self-confidence and a solid foundation.
VE stands for Preschool Education: a program that stimulates the broad development of young children. Some children receive a VE indication, for example if a visit to the child health clinic shows that they need extra support. In that case, a child can often come to Wiedewei for extra half days with a subsidy from the municipality. In addition, children with a VE indication receive extra guidance, for example in smaller groups or with activities that tie in with the development goals stated in the action plan. At Wiedewei, however, we believe that every child benefits from Preschool Education, regardless of whether you have a VE indication or not. That is why we offer VE in all our daycare groups. This way, every child gets the chance to develop optimally, through play and in a safe environment.
At every location we work with Uk & Puk and with the green friend Spruit. Uk & Puk is a VE program that connects with the world of experience of young children. This VE program is built around themes that are recognizable and interesting for children. Think of seasons, family or traffic. Within each theme we offer activities that stimulate the following development areas:
We furnish the group room with materials that match the theme. Think of umbrellas, rain boots and water drop garlands for the theme 'Rain' or a doctor's corner for the theme 'Hatsjoe!'. Within these themes we think of all kinds of activities (indoors and outdoors), we play games and sing songs. Hand puppet Spruit involves your child in the activities. Together they experience all kinds of recognizable, fun and exciting things.
At Wiedewei, pedagogical staff members work who are specially trained for Preschool Education (VE). They follow additional training to optimally guide the development of young children. In addition, they receive regular training from VE coaches, so that they always work according to the latest insights. These VE coaches also offer support for complex issues and monitor the quality of the VE program at Wiedewei. In this way, every child receives the right guidance and can develop in a safe, stimulating environment.
Does your child like to talk and learn new words quickly? Or does he or she need some extra support with language? At Wiedewei we monitor the development of children with KIJK!, a recognized observation and registration system. With this we map out language skills, but also other development areas, so that we get a good picture of what a child needs. For children with a VE indication, this is done extra carefully and, if necessary, supported with an action plan.
